Biographical details
Dr Marina Shapira obtained her D.Phil. degree in Sociology
from University of Oxford (Nuffield College) in 2007.
Marina's PhD project "Socio-economic Inequality in an Immigrant Absorbing Society: Case of Israel" has been funded and supported by an ORS Award, Nuffield College Scholarship and the Wingate Foundation Award. During her PhD Marina was also actively involved in the research project on British Ethnic minorities under the supervision of Professor Anthony Heath.
Marina earned her Masters degree in Sociology at the University of Haifa, Israel. Both during and after her studies for the degree she was extensively involved in research, teaching and consulting activites mostly related to the issues of quantitative methods in social research and social stratirication and mobility. Marina's MA dissertation received the Frankel's Family Award for the best research proposal and was also supported by the Haifa University Graduate Scholarship.
