Biographical details
Annie Weir is a Research Fellow at CES. She first joined CES in March 2009 as
a Contract Researcher working with Professor Jenny Ozga on a Scottish
Funding Council project looking at the Feasibility of Quality Assurance
of Knowledge Transfer. She recently completed a short contract working
on an education project as part of the large European Commission 6th
Framework Integrated project ‘Knowledge and Policy. Currently Dr Weir
is with working Professor Ozga and Professor Kate Niven (University
of Stirling) on a project funded by the Chief Nursing Office on Building
Knowledge Exchange: Clinical Academic Posts for Nursing and Recognition
of Knowledge Exchange between Health and Higher Education Systems.
Before joining CES, Dr Weir was the Education Quality Manager for
a large New Zealand institution.
Research interests
Annie Weir’s main research is in the quality assurance of further and higher
education, which includes education policy. Other research interest
include knowledge transfer in higher education; interface between
health and higher education systems; higher education and globalisation;
higher education policy in UK devolved context; programme reviews;
critique of qualifications frameworks.
