CREDIT: Credit Systems for Lifelong Learning
Overview
A Research Project
funded by the BIBB |
Summary |
The CES is contributing the Scottish component of a four-country study led and
funded by the BIBB, the German Federal Institute for Vocational Training.
The other countries are Denmark and the Netherlands as well as Germany
itself. The project is being conducted in the context of a growing
international interest in credit, especially associated with ECVET,
the European Credit System for Vocational Education and Training.
Scotland has a longer and richer experience of credit than most other
countries. The research goal is to find out if and how credit transfer
operates at two interfaces: at the points of access to the qualification
system, and at the points of transition within the qualifications
system or between qualifications subsystems. The project involves
a review of existing literature on credit, interviews with key actors,
and comparative analysis and synthesis. |
